Dean Abbott

Dean Abbott is cofounder and chief data scientist at SmarterHQ. Mr. Abbott is an internationally recognized expert and innovator in data science and predictive analytics, with three decades of experience solving problems in customer analytics, fraud detection, risk modeling, text mining, survey analysis, and many more. He is frequently included in lists of pioneering and influential data scientists.

Mr. Abbott is the author of Applied Predictive Analytics (Wiley, 2014) and coauthor of The IBM SPSS Modeler Cookbook (Packt Publishing, 2013). He is a popular keynote speaker and workshop instructor at conferences worldwide and serves on advisory boards for the UC/Irvine Predictive Analytics and UCSD Data Science Certificate programs.

He holds a bachelor's degree in computational mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master's in applied mathematics from the University of Virginia.

Chris Adamson

Chris Adamson (CBIP) is a BI and analytics consultant, author, and TDWI’s director of education. Chris works with clients worldwide to establish BI and analytics programs, define and prioritize projects, and develop information architectures. With over 30 years of data management experience in IT, consulting, and high-tech marketing, Chris leads TDWI’s education programs and curriculum development. A recognized expert in the field, his many publications include the top-selling books Star Schema: The Complete Reference and Data Warehouse Design Solutions.

Andrew Cardno

Andrew Cardno is an established thought leader in visual analytics with over 25 years of experience in the field. Andrew has led private Ph.D. and master’s level research teams in visualization and development for over 20 years; this leadership won Andrew two Smithsonian Laureates and more than 50 innovation awards. He is an inventor in over 60 granted patents. He has published over 100 industry and academic articles and is coauthor of three books on applied analytics.

Steve Dine

He has extensive experience designing, delivering, and managing successful, highly scalable, and maintainable modern data architecture solutions. Steve combines hands-on technical experience with a strong business acumen. He has experience across numerous industries including healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, life sciences, and retail. Steve is the former director of global data warehousing for a major durable medical equipment manufacturing company and currently works as a consultant for Fortune 500 companies. Steve is a TDWI faculty member and a judge for the Annual TDWI Best Practices Awards. He teaches courses and presents on the topics of modern data architecture, BI in the cloud, lean BI, and enabling BI for the 21st century. Steve earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont and a MBA from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

He has developed a fully integrated method and compendium of best practices that incorporate all these concepts into a single cohesive strategy.
